Wrong calibration on laptops that have CABC Content-adaptive backlight control
Posted by Raphael Graf on 09 June 2017 09:09 AM

On modern mid range to high end laptop please check for the usage of Content-adaptive backlight control (CABC).

THIS has to be DISABLED (often in the bios)

IMPORTANT: Sometimes a patch is needed to have the ability to disable the CABC function.

For example on some DELL XPS 13 series: http://www.anandtech.com/show/9869/dell-issues-patch-for-content-adaptive-brightness-control-on-the-xps-13

In case you are unsure, please contact and double check directly with the manufacturer
