This error (GetMonitorStrings) means that when we are asking the OS for the monitor name we are not getting anything back. Notice the title bar of the Profile Chooser window. This window usually has the name of the monitor, but here it has garbage characters. A possible solution is to update the monitor information by selecting a generic type: Open Display Properties Go to the Settings tab Click Advanced Go to the Monitor tab Click Properties Go to the Driver tab Click Update Driver Click Install from a list or specific location Next Click Don t search. I will choose the driver to install. Next Unmark the Show compatible hardware checkbox Scroll to the top of the Manufacturer list and click (Standard monitor types) Click the entry in the Model list that matches the resolution Next Finish" | |
