The SpyderCHECKR 24 looks like it is intended as a capture target. I currently only carry the SpyderCUBE to capture white balance and exposure information. I then use the 48 patch SpyderCHECKR to build profiles for each of my camera and lens combinations then apply that profile to images as I import them. Does the addition of SpyderCHECKR 24 change the recommended workflow for users?

Your current workflow is excellent; it should correct for both scene lighting and camera color issues. Some users want to include a smaller target in every shot. One occasion where this is helpful is photographing artwork for reproduction. Including the SpyderCHECKR 24 in a scene will provide more reference information to work from to color correct the final image.

SpyderCHECKR 24 can also be used to set in-camera white balance for non-RAW captures. Capturing an in-camera white balance helps with the accuracy of the preview on the LCD screen. Setting an in-camera white balance also increases the accuracy of the histogram. Your camera converts the image to a jpeg to generate histogram information; by setting an in-camera white balance the histogram will give you a better representation of the images you capture.

Other users simply want a more affordable target to use in the same workflow you are currently using.
