I have a recent model, high end DSLR camera. The color I get from it looks great to me. Why would I need SpyderCheckr?

People often say that about their printers as well; until they see the improvement which a custom printer profile produces.
Or they may need to get two different printers to produce similar results so that they can mix the resulting prints together.

Its the same with cameras: your results may look good, but that doesn’t mean that they are highly accurate, or highly consistent.
So calibration should provide reassurance that the files you are producing are optimal, and also allow you to shoot an event with
multiple cameras and produce results which work well together.
