My previous Spyders sometimes needed adjustment when I put them on my monitor to get direct contact with the screen. I’ve been told this is not nearly as important with SpyderX. Is this true, and if so, why?

SpyderX uses a brand-new Lens-based Color Engine. Instead of taking contact measurements of the screen, it is viewing the screen through a large lens within SpyderX which is set back from the screen. It also means SpyderX does not need perfect screen contact or to exactly read the screen accurately. While we don’t recommend calibrating screens with SpyderX at an angle, it is reassuring that any small gap should not have significant effects on the results. | |
